Czech Republic Secured Supplies from Germany’s Stade LNG Terminal

The Czech Republic secured 2bcm of LNG supplies via the German Stade LNG terminal from 2027 onwards, Prime Minister Petr Fiala said, cited by Bloomberg.

  • Supplies are scheduled to start from 2027, when a contract for supplies via the Dutch Eemshaven terminal ends.
  • The Czech Republic has been trying to reduce natural gas imports from Russia since the start of the war in Ukraine.
  • In January, the prime minister reported the country has reduced flows from Russia to as little as 3% of its gas imports from 97% prior to the war.
