Debt Ceiling Passes House Rule Committee, Full-House Vote Set For Wednesday

The US debt ceiling bill cleared its first major hurdle. It was passed in the Republican controlled House Rules Committe by 7-6 votes. This clears the way for the bill to be voted on by the full house on Wednesday. CNBC notes that the floor vote for the bill is planned for around 8:30pm ET on Wednesday, according to the tentative House voting schedule.
