Democrats With Huge Cash Advantage Over GOP

US

Democrats hold a huge cash advantage over the GOP across nearly every level of national politics, according to new campaign financing data.

  • Axios notes: “The Biden campaign and the DNC ended February with more than twice as much cash on hand ($97.5 million) as Trump and the RNC ($44.8 million). House Democrats' campaign arm has $14 million more than its GOP counterpart. Their Senate campaign committee has a $7 million edge.”
  • Axios also notes that, remarkably, “Nikki Haley, who isn't running anymore, reported more cash on hand at the end of February than the RNC.”
  • Trump's financial woes may worsen as New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) could begin seizing former President Donald Trump’s New York assets as soon as Monday, if Trump fails to post bond in his USD$464 million civil fraud case.
  • The New York Times reports that Trump’s social media company could start trading on the stock market as early as Monday, “immediately raising his net worth by around $3 billion — wealth that Trump may be able to tap to pay his mounting legal bills…” However, as Politico notes, “it’s unlikely that money will come soon enough to address Trump’s pressing financial woes."
