Diesel Cracks Reach New Highs Again

US retail gasoline prices are up at $5 a gallon with no change yet in the strength of the market refined product crack spreads.

  • Both US and European diesel cracks have traded at record highs once again this morning. US spread to a high of 75.4$/bbl and the Gasoil-Brent spread to 53.3$/bbl.
  • US 321 crack up 1.5% at 56.41$/bbl
  • US gasoline crack up 2.1% at 47.106$/bbl
  • US ULSD crack up 0.6% at 75.017$/bbl
  • Brent FCC margin down -0.7% at 25.22$/bbl
  • Gasoline-Brent down -0.2% at 40$/bbl
  • Gasoil-Brent up 0.9% at 53.03$/bbl
  • US officials are considering ideas to reduce the high pump prices saying they will use all reasonable and appropriate tools to increase refining capacity and output. A proposal under consideration is to limit foreign sales of petroleum products. US Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm is due to meet with oil refiners on 23rd June to discuss ways they could increase output.
