DNO Partly Resumes Oil Production in Iraq

OIL

DNO has partly restarted production at its Tawke field in the Iraqi Kurdistan region last month, after the firm shut down production at the Tawke and Peshkabir fields end of March shortly after exports via a pipeline to the Turkish port of Ceyhan were halted, the firm said.

  • Prior to the shutdown of both fields, which pumped 107kbpd of crude in 2022, the firm had been diverting oil to storage tanks.
  • DNO is currently delivering oil to the local market at a discount as the pipeline to the Turkish port remains shut, it said.
  • Oil flows from the Kurdistan region have been halted since end-March. Several news outlets reported the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is scheduled to meet Iraq this month in an attempt to resume oil flows, however, no official date has been released.
