Draft MoU On Financial Services Regulatory Forum Published

The European Commission has published a draft memorandum of understanding on a financial services regulatory forum with the UK in the post-Brexit landscape. The MoU states that the forum should meet at least semi-annually.

  • Commission: "The MoU has been transmitted to the Council for its political endorsement, before it can be signed by the Commission on behalf of the EU. Once signed by both parties, this MoU will establish a joint EU-UK financial regulatory forum, which will serve as a platform to facilitate structured dialogue on issues related to financial services."
  • MoU: "If appropriate [...] each Participant will endeavour to share information on regulatory developments to allow for a timely identification of potential cross-border implementation issues,"
