DUP Leader-Report On 'Windsor Framework' By End-March

EU-UK

Leader of Northern Ireland's Democratic Unionist Party Sir Jeffrey Donaldson has stated that he has set up a group to consult on the 'Windsor framework' announced last week by the UK and EU, with the aim of having a report by end-March. The framework is intended to resolve issues in the Northern Ireland protocol within the Brexit withdrawal agreement. • Donaldson: "Today I have established a group to commence and undertake a wide consultation process within Northern Ireland, listening and taking views on the Windsor framework document...The work will be undertaken in parallel with our ongoing engagement with the UK gov't...The group will work independently and provide me with a report by the end of March."
  • The restoration of the devolved power-sharing exec in Northern Ireland is one of the key tests of the success or failure of the Windsor framework.
