FOREX: Early price action suggested that China managed to soothe the nerves
somewhat as the country's Finance Minister pledged to implement corporate tax
cuts & state television cited comments from a Wuhan hospital head, who noted
that the epidemic may have reached a turning point. Elsewhere, Japan reported
pretty dismal flash growth figures for Q4, with the economy contracting more
than expected. U.S. markets are shut for a public holiday.
- G10 pairs have stuck to fairly tight ranges so far. The Antipodeans showed
some modest strength, but ticked away from highs, although AUD remains the
outperformer. JPY still lags its peers from the basket, but only marginally.
- USD/CNH has shed ~100 pips but Friday's low has remained intact so far.
- Japanese ind. output (f) & comments from ECB's Lane take focus from here.
