Early USD Firmness Not Sustained

The USD has reversed the earlier firmer bias, the BBDXY now tracking off a little over 0.10%, last 1222.70/75.

  • The main outperformers have been AUD and NZD, although gains are less than 0.30% at this stage. AUD/USD was last near session highs in the 0.6730/35 region. NZD/USD near 0.6260.
  • USD/JPY has drifted down to 144.35/40, off close to 0.20%. Earlier highs were at 144.92. EUR/USD is back to 1.0950.
  • US Tsy futures have ticked back higher, while the US equity futures sit higher, albeit way from best levels. Most regional equity markets are higher as well, although HK and China markets are struggling for positive territory.
