EBRD to Support 192MW Romanian Wind Farm Build

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will loan €32mn for the construction of the first 192MW phase of a 461MW Romanian wind farm, with the first phase operational by the end of 2025, the EBRD said today.

  • The first phase of the Vifor wind project will be able to produce around 550 GWh/yr once operational.
  • The project is owned by Romanian firm First Look Solutions and is located in the southeast of Romania – the Buzau region.
  • Romania is looking to at 11.9GW of renewables to the grid by 2030 to boost the share of its renewable consumption to 36.2% from 24.3% in 2019.
