HUNGARY
  • European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen defended a decision to unlock around EUR 10bln of Hungary's EU funding after the country adopted judicial reforms, but said the remaining EUR 20bln would remain frozen until all necessary conditions were fulfilled, MTI report.

  • She noted that Hungary had received "pre-financing" under REPowerEU that is not subject to any conditions.
  • At the end of December, EUR 779.5m were transferred in RRF funding and another EUR 445m arrived earlier this month as part of the EU 2021-2027 budget cycle, the Hungarian Finance Minister said.
