Econ Min-Monitoring NS Situation, Gas Supply  Guaranteed At Present

Wires carrying comments from the German economy ministry stating that the gov't is 'monitoring the situation' with the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline.

  • Adds that 'security of supply is guaranteed at the moment.'
  • Comes as Russia reduces supplies through the pipeline by 40%. Gazprom lays the blame at the feet of German firm Siemens, which it says is late in returning gas-pumping units to the Baltic Portovaya compressor station after it took them for repairs.
