Economic Activity Data Due

CHILE

Substantial retracement in USDCLP over Thursday and Friday, rallying from 700 over 3.5% to close the week at 725. As risk sentiment soured, Copper prices also suffered, weighing on the Chilean Peso.


With both US equity indices and the commodity space firmly in the green to commence the week, some relief demand for the Peso may be expected. Additionally, as the new month begins, Hacienda may restart their dollar sales program which may add headwinds for USDCLP.

At 1300Local: Chile's Central Bank president Mario Marcel will speak at an OECD conference. For reference the next Chile Central Bank meeting is scheduled for March 26th.
