  • Local economists says Poland's 2022 state budget assumptions are perceived as "realistic," – noting the draft bill brings continuation of positive trends from 2021 when it comes to deficit.
    • Govt may be plotting financing of the lion's share of infrastructural spending included in the Polish Deal platform from the EU recovery fund, as no such expenditures were included in the 2022 budget draft.
    • The proximity of the 2023 parliamentary elections could inspire the ruling camp to try to introduce new social benefits,
    • but such outlays would likely also have to be pushed out of the budget and be financed, as one-offs, by state bank BGK, for instance
