The first sackings from PM Boris Johnson's Cabinet reshuffle confirmed, with Education Secretary Gavin Williamson sending a tweet from his account confirming his departure. Widely expected and unlikely to have any significant impact on markets/UK politics.
- More influential departure could be in the form of Justice Secretary and Lord Chancellor Robert Buckland. Not confirmed as having been sacked yet, but is being reported by Sky.
- Rumours circulating that one of the most senior Cabinet ministers, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs Dominic Raab could be demoted, with the Justice Ministry seen as a likely destination. If Buckland has been sacked it would leave the spot open for Raab.
