EGB Supply For W/C Oct 3, 2022

EUROZONE ISSUANCE

Germany, Estonia, Spain and France all still look to sell bonds this week while the EFSF, Austria and Germany held issuance operations yesterday. We look for estimated gross nominal issuance of E23.1bln from announced operations, little changed from last week’s E23.6bln.

  • Germany will return to the market this morning with E1.5bln of the 1.00% May-38 Bund (ISIN: DE0001102598) on offer.
  • Estonia has issued a mandate for an upcoming 10-year benchmark syndication. Investor calls were held on Tuesday with the transaction expected in the “near future” (MNI expects Wednesday). This will be the first Estonian transaction since June 2020 when it issued E1.5bln of a 10-year benchmark during the pandemic. This syndication is expected to cover financing needs for both the remainder of the year and 2023 so MNI expects an issue size of E1.0-1.5bln.
