EGBs / gilts: No domestic drivers until tomorrow

  • After some relatively bumpy moves around the open and shortly after, we've been trading sideways through the European morning session for EGBs and gilts.
  • There have been no real significant market moving events in the region with UK markets looking ahead to tomorrow's January activity data while the final print of German inflation, also due tomorrow morning will be in focus. This of course all comes ahead of the release of the US employment report tomorrow and next week's ECB meeting.
  • Through the rest of the day, in the absence of any headline drivers, EGBs and gilts are likely to follow USTs if there is any change in positioning ahead of the labour market report.
