Egypt to Receive Second LNG Shipment Next Week

LNG

The LNG vessel Minerva Limnos is due to arrive in Jordan on 16 May with supplies to be delivery back through the pipelines into Egypt.

  • The shipment is Egypt’s second LNG import of the summer following the Flex Volunteer to Jordan on 14 April.
  • The ship will have to pass through the Suez Canal, but will only enter the top of the Red Sea.
  • Egypt sustains its switch towards an importer over the summer rather than an exporter to help meet domestic cooling demands. Egypt is due to receive an FSRU, Hoegh Galleon, in June, to be located in Ain Sokhna for 19-20 months and enable direct LNG imports.
