OIL PRODUCTS

The latest weekly EIA oil data showed an increase in US gasoline implied demand but a drop in distillates implied demand on the week.

  • The four week implied demand gasoline demand edged higher roughly in line with the seasonal trend to remain about 2.3% below the previous five year average.
  • Four week implied distillates demand remains below the previous five year range for the time of year with a decline typically expected at this time of year. The dip follows stable demand over the previous few weeks. The demand is still 9.8% below the previous five year average.
