Eni Plans To Double Contracted LNG By 2026, Phase Out Russian Gas By 2025

Eni is expecting to grow its contracted LNG to over 18mtpa by 2026, double that of 2022, to secure gas more diversified gas for its customers in order to fully phase out Russian gas imports by 2025, the firm said in its strategic plan.

  • Eni has committed to improving Italy’s energy security by securing gas supplies from Africa to replace Russian imports over the next couple of years.
  • The firm aims to fully replace the 20bcm of Russian gas volumes by 2025 by ramping up volumes from Algeria, Egypt, Mozambique, Congo and Qatar.
  • The company’s oil and gas production for the year was 1.610mbpd, below the target of 1.7mbpd because of unplanned outages.
