STOCKS: Equities have got off to a mixed start, with markets mulling the
possibility of the US introducing curbs on Chinese investment. While officials
have been quick to deny that there are any immediate plans to restrict foreign
investment from China, the rhetoric nonetheless suggests that Washington and
Beijing are a long way off from normalising ties.
- Japanese equities have taken the largest hit, while the ASX 200 and the Sensex
have also inched lower.
- The Hang Seng and Kospi have been regional outperformers this morning.
