  • Industrials and Materials led gainers in the first half, stronger air and ground transportation stocks buoyed the former: American Airlines +4.66%, Delta +3.40%, Uber +3.31% while United Airlines gained 3.2%. Construction materials supported the latter: Martin Marietta Materials +2.09%, Vulcan Materials +1.80%.
  • Information Technology and Communication Services sectors underperformed, semiconductor stocks weaker as they paired recent gains: Advanced Micro Devices -2.14%, Nvidia -1.78%, Micron -1.76%. Meanwhile, interactive media and entertainment weighed on the Communication Services sector: Live Nation -1.82%, Meta -0.85%, Take-Two Interactive -0.18%.
  • Note, United Health surged 5.76% after beating earnings expectations this morning. Balance of announcement from banks saw PNC Financial trade +3.9%, Bank of America +4.74%, Morgan Stanley +2.28%, State Street +4.74%, while Charles Schwab bucked the trend trading -8.09%.
