Equities Weigh On Crude

OIL

WTI and Brent trade ~$0.40 below their respective settlement levels, with continued pressure for global equity markets weighing on crude overnight. This comes after the same matter applied pressure on Thursday, as did producers restarting their facilities in and around the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. Elsewhere, the tropical storm situation seemingly provides less of a threat to the U.S., with one storm in the area weakening and another being deemed less likely to hit the east coast.

  • It is also worth flagging a RTRS story which pointed towards a "Venezuela-owned tanker loaded with about two million barrels of oil has set sail in its first international voyage since the United States imposed sanctions on state-run PDVSA."
