  • SPX leading/lagging sectors: Industrials (+0.60%) narrowly lead gainers with machinery, construction and engineering shares stronger (PCAR +6.27%, CMI +2.57%, WAB +2.22%). Financials and Real Estate sectors tied at +0.30% w/ insurance names outperforming banks (TRV +2.87%, CB +1.45%, GL +1.20%).
  • Laggers: Health Care (-0.90%) weighed by pharmaceuticals and bio-tech stocks (PKI -4.09%, TMO -3.99%, DHR -3.03%). Energy (-0.52%) and Communication Services (-0.44%) followed, the latter scaling back after posting decent gains last couple sessions - interactive media services weaker (Google and Match -1.46%).
  • Dow Industrials Leaders/Laggers: Travelers (TRV) +5.89 at 192.25, Caterpillar (CAT) +4.90 at 257.63, Honeywell (HON) +2.55 at 207.01. Laggers: MMM -6.53 at 116.09 after missing earnings expectations this morning ($2.28 EPS vs. 2.36 est), AMGN -2.12 at 258.85, Merck (MRK) -1.86 at 108.02.
