Erdogan and Finnish President Niinisto to Discuss NATO Bid

  • Hurriyet report that President Erdogan and his Finnish counterpart, Sauli Niinisto, will meet today to discuss Finland’s bid to join NATO amid reports that Ankara plans to ratify Finland’s accession protocol to the alliance in the coming days while delaying Sweden’s bid.
  • Private sector’s total outstanding loans received from abroad fell by $158 million from end-2022 to $159.7 billion as of January, according to central bank statement.
  • Data-wise, the central bank will publish weekly portfolio capital flows data at 1130 GMT/1430 local time. President Erdogan will attend a summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Ankara, where he is expected to meet Hungary Prime Minister Orban at 1445 GMT/1745 local time.
