  • The piece quotes the board chair Makgoba as saying says if the executive at the utility confronts the issue of “incompetence head on” at some power plants, it would go a long way to reduce load-shedding in South Africa.
  • Recall, earlier in the week Moneyweb flagged that just three power stations (Tutuka, Kendal and Duvha) were responsible for near half of all Eskom breakdowns across March this year. Should these three plants be shored up and repaired, Eskom could plug current energy shortfalls suffered during the evening peak.
