EU Daily Renewables Forecast: French Solar to Remain Strong

Forecasts for solar PV output in France suggest high output for the next nine days, while wind generation across central western Europe will remain seasonally low according to spotrenewables.

  • Forecasts for wind output in Germany have been revised down on the day to 596MW to 9.91GW during base-load hours in the period to 15 September. German solar PV output is forecast at around 11.2-24.3GW during peak-load hours in the period.
  • Solar PV output in France is expected to remain strong in the next nine days to range between 5.4GW to 7.9GW during peak-load hours.
  • Hot weather in France is forecast to continue to boost power demand that is forecast to range between 45.7-53.4GW on 9-15 September, RTE data show.
  • Wind output forecasts for Norway have been revised down on the day to 737MW-1.9GW during base-load hours in the period until 15 September.
  • Temperatures across Europe are still forecast to remain above normal although could drift slightly cooler in the second week of the outlook.
