EU Gas Maintenance: Troll Outage Further Extended

Norwegian natural gas supplies to Europe are struggling to recover and fell back on the day due to outage extensions. The maintenance at the 125mcm/d Troll field has been further extended until 14 Sept, Gassco remit data show.

  • Natura gas flows from Norway to Europe stood at 136.4mcm/d today. Unavailable capacity for Tuesday has been revised up 210.34mcm/d and for Wednesday to 194.94mcm/d. Capacity curtailments are scheduled to significantly increase on Thursday.
  • Annual maintenance at the 125mcm/d Troll field has been further extended until 14 Sept. The field was initially planned to end the bulk of annual maintenance on 7 Sept. 55mcm/d will be unavailable on 14-15 Sept, 45mcm/d of capacity will be unavailable on 15-16 Sept and 6mcm/d on 16 Sept until 5 Oct.
  • Some of the capacity of the large Kollsnes facility has returned after several extensions. 73mcm/d of capacity will be unavailable until 14 Sept and 11mcm/d on 26 Sept until 16 Oct.
  • The Ormen Lange maintenance has been delayed by two days to start 14 Sept until 3 October, affecting 24.5mcm/d.
  • The unplanned outage at the 25.8mcm/d Aasta Hansteen field will end on 14 Sept. Capacity will be curtailed by 12.9mcm/d on 14-15 September, however, the duration remains uncertain.
  • Works at Karsto on 17-25 September have been dismissed.
  • The maintenance at Dvalin is expected to end tomorrow.
