EU LNG Sendout Continues to Fall with Low UK and Spain Imports

Late last week just one cargo had been imported into UK in May so far, compared a total of four throughout April, continuing a trend of below seasonal average levels since the end of January, according to Bloomberg ship-tracking data.
- A total of 13 LNG cargoes arrived into NW Europe between Mar. 1 - 9 according to Bloomberg with another 16 scheduled before the end of the month. Total arrivals during April were 61 cargoes and with 60 in March.
- Sendout from UK LNG terminals slumped in March and April while total European LNG sendout is down again in May to around 282mcm/d on May 11. Total EU sendout has averaged 292mcm/d so far in May and 337mcm/d in April.
- Spanish LNG imports and reloads decreased in April compared to the same month last year. Russia and Algeria were the biggest LNG suppliers to Spain in April, according to Enagas. LNG imports decreased 46.2% y/y to 16.1 TWh in April and accounted for 60.2% of total gas imports and compared to 18.1 TWh in March.
