EU To Require Authorities Be Told If Vaccine To Be Exported

In a Commission press conference VP Valdis Dombrovskis and Health Commissioner Stella Kyriakides have confirmed that the EU will impose an 'authorisation mechanism' on the export of vaccines.

  • This will require vaccine manufacturers to notify authorities in the member state that the doses have been produced in if they intend to export the vaccine and if so how many doses.
  • Dombrovskis: "We have to ensure that all advanced purchases agreements made by the EU are honoured,"
