EURO-YEN: EUR/JPY last deals at Y128.56, ~25 pips or so lower, after Friday's
uptick.
- The pair slipped initially, hitting session lows of Y128.47, as risk appetite
was tempered by U.S. VP Pence's hawkish trade comments re: China and lack of
concluding statement from participants at the weekend's APEC summit, reportedly
due to divisions over global trade.
- However, the pair regained some poise as the Nikkei 225 started on the front
foot & remained in positive territory.
- The rate is oscillating around the 21-DMA at Y128.62, bulls look for a clear
break & consolidation above before trying to retake Friday's high at Y128.90.
Conversely, initial bearish focus falls on Friday's intraday low at Y128.13, and
a break below would open up the Nov 15 lows of Y127.77.
