- Bunds ended 3-4bps richer – our DM team flagged softer than expected run of Canadian CPI as the main impetus, with a fall in the US Philadelphia Fed non-manufacturing index also providing support.
- Main/XO closed ~1bp/6bp wider, underperforming CDX IG/HY by ~1bp/7bp. €IG/€HY cash ended -1/+3.5bp with Energy/Tech the only sub-indices in wider territory.
- SXXP sat 0.1% lower with Tech and Basic Resources both -1.8% and Chemicals +2.6% after Air Liquide rose 8.3% post-earnings.
- The main macro story in Asia has been the sharp bounce in China and Hong Kong equities (+1.7% and +2.2%), as the authorities targeted quant funds, contributing to recent measures to stabilize the market. SXXP futures are -0.1% DoD.
