EURHUF Keeps Trading Within 405-410 Range

HUNGARY
  • EURHUF ticks higher this morning and continues to trade within the 405 – 410 range as the recent rise in risk aversion has been weighing on the forint.
  • Last week, the NBH decided to keep its 1w depo rate steady at 10.75% (as expected) despite renewed HUF weakness.
  • We argued that 410 seems to be the new threshold for NBH policymakers to start considering intervening via the 1W depo facility.
  • On the downside, key support to watch stands at 400, followed by 391.90 (100DMA).
  • Vodafone has entered a non-binding agreement with 4iG and Corvinus for the potential sale of Vodafone Hungary for a total cash consideration equivalent to an enterprise value of HUF715 billion, or EU1.8 billion, according to statements from the parties (BBG).
