EURHUF Pares Thursday’s Losses

HUF

EURHUF has erased the entirety of yesterday’s losses this morning and is now down just over 1% on the week overall. Comments from EU officials late yesterday, who said that Hungary must do more to address rule of law concerns that led to the suspension of the bloc’s funding for the country, is likely providing a headwind to the forint, which is the worst performing EMEA currency so far today. Today's moves in EURHUF are in tandem with EURPLN.

  • EURHUF is still trading below the 50-day EMA – a level which intersects today at 385.43. That average has been closed below for the past three sessions, signalling scope for an extension lower toward 387.24 – the Aug 30 low. On the upside, key resistance is seen much further out at 394.65, the Sep 28 high.
