European Gas Demand 24% Behind 5-Year Average in November

EU natural gas demand in November was 24% below the five-year average based on preliminary ICIS figures. In October, consumption was also 24% below the average.

  • German demand in November was 23% below average - in October savings were 26%.
  • Italian gas demand was 21% lower than the five-year average in November, having been 23% a month earlier.
  • In non-EU Great Britain, gas demand was 19% below its five-year average in November, having been 24% a month earlier.
  • In France gas consumption was down 25% relative to the average in both November and October.
  • Dutch gas demand in November was 34% below average, having been 31% lower than the five-year trend in October.
  • Spanish demand for gas was 22% below average in November, having been just 6% lower than average in October.
