European Gas Maintenance Update

Maintenance at Norway’s Troll field next will be smaller than initially planned, after an ongoing series of works will end two days earlier than expected. Capacity reductions will significantly deepen from 26 August, Gassco remit data showed.

  • The Troll field will end the current maintenance affecting 17.5mcm/d on Monday. Capacity will be reduced by 5.5mcm/d on 14-19 August before rising to 34.5mcm/d on 19-26 August.
  • Works at the Ormen Lange field have been extended for 19-20 and 20-21 August.
  • The Kollsnes processing plant is scheduled to return on 21 August. Output has been reduced by 10mcm/d.
  • Prior to the changes to the schedule, an RBC note estimated 1.5bcm of production is expected to be offline during August and 2.5bcm in September, with the main bulk of outages starting from 26 August.
  • In the UK, gas works at the St Fergus terminal have been extended until 1 September.
  • The Cygnus field is scheduled to come back two days later than originally planned on 15 August.
  • The Perenco Bacton terminal will end maintenance on 15 August.
  • In Germany, there was no LNG sendout on 10-11 August at the Brunsbuettel LNG terminal.
