European PPA Prices Decline to Mid-May Low

European power purchased agreements (PPAs) fell to a mid-May low on 7 June, edging down by €0.16/MWh – tracking losses in gas, EU ETS and power in the previous session, according to the latest data from energy pricing firm Pexapark. PPA prices could be dented today amid continued lower prices in the energy complex.

  • EU PPA prices decreased €49.33/MWh on 7 June from €49.49/MWh on 6 June. This is the lowest EU PPA prices have been since 17 May at €48.99/MWh.
  • PPA prices in the Netherlands decreased the most, down 1.47%, with France and Germany, respectively, down 0.08% and 0.84%.
  • PPA prices were also lower on the day in Nordics, Poland, Italy and the UK.
  • But PPA prices in Portugal and Spain, moved up by 0.5% and 0.51%, respectively.
  • Solar PPA prices decreased by 0.31%, with offshore and onshore PPAs down 0.61% and 0.55%, respectively.
  • TTF Gas JUL 24 down 1.2% at 32.715 EUR/MWh.
  • EUA DEC 24 down 2.2% at 69.84 EUR/MT.
  • Germany Base Pwr JUL 24 down 2% at 73.13 EUR/MWh.
