EURSEK Holds Trendline Support, With Economic Tendency Survey Up Weds

While still the G10 outperformer for the second day running, EURSEK found some support from the trendline we noted Monday (drawn from the 11 November 2022 low) and is off of daily lows.

  • Both EURSEK and NOKSEK sit 0.4-0.5% lower on the day, with the latter not supported significantly by the rally in Brent prices seen since the European cash open.
  • Wednesday sees the September print of the Swedish Economic Tendency Indicator, a survey closely watched by the Riksbank to gauge consumer/business sentiment as well as inflation expectations.
  • The survey will be of increased market interest this month following the Riksbank's move to a firmly data dependent stance as of the September meeting, and may clear the path for further SEK strength if sentiment recovers from a weak August print.
