Falling TTF closes gap to JKM but still favours LNG to Europe

JKM-TTF spread the closest since the start of the month

  • Weaker TTF combined with stronger JKM has close the spread from approximately -8$/mmbtu late last week to just -3.2$/mmbtu
  • The LNG netback from US to Europe has therefore pulled back to 17.99$/bbl but remains above Asia at 11.37$/bbl. The spread remains in favour of flows to Europe throughout the summer.
  • Weekly average imports into NW and Eastern Europe have consistently remained at or above the 5-year range so far this year. The current weekly average is 231k mt compared to an average of just 100k mt for this time of year.
