US DATA: Feb durable goods orders in-line -1.6%, +0.1% ex transportation.

- Durable goods orders near-expected -1.6% in Feb vs -1.8% BBG, -1.6% 
MNI, with aircraft the main driver, as anticipated.
- Durables orders ex. transport as-BBG expected +0.1%, slightly ahead of 
flat MNI reading. Gains in primary and fabricated metals and electrical 
equipment offset declines for machinery and computers.
- Nondefense capital goods new orders -6.3%, ex. aircraft -0.1%, while 
nondefense capital goods shipments +0.6%, ex. aircraft flat. 
- There were solid gains for the ex-aircraft measures in Jan, so the Feb 
slowed the progress of Q1 nonresidential fixed investment.
- Jan orders were revised down overall, but revised up slightly for the 
ex-transportation component.
