February Production Data Due, Security Cabinet To Meet US Officials

  • Mexico’s industrial production in February is expected to have increased 2.9% y/y, broadly in line with the prior month’s 2.8% rise. Data is scheduled for release at 1300BST/0800ET:
    • Feb. Industrial Production SA M/m, est. 0.2%, prior -0.0%
    • Feb. Industrial Production NSA Y/y, est. 2.9%, prior 2.8%
    • Feb. Manuf. Production NSA Y/y, est. 3.6%, prior 4.8%
  • Trading on Mexico’s main stock exchange was halted multiple times on Monday due to a problem with market data, the bourse said. The Bolsa Mexicana de Valores said in a statement that trading had been suspended “due to a failure in the dissemination of information,” while stressing that measures were taken to “ensure fairness and continuity of trades.”
  • Members of Mexico's security cabinet will be in the United States this week to meet with U.S. officials about the trafficking of synthetic opioid fentanyl, President AMLO said Monday. The meeting's agenda will include other topics, including arms trafficking, the president said, without providing details on which U.S. officials would participate. (Reuters)
