US DATA: February retail sales lower-expected -0.2%, ex-mtr veh -0.4%

- Feb retail sales -0.2%, much lower than +0.3% expected by both BBG and 
MNI, but following a strong upward revision to Jan sales. 
- Feb sales ex-mtr veh -0.4%, much softer than +0.4% both BBG and MNI 
- Feb sales ex. mtr veh and gas -0.6%, control group (ex. mv, gas, 
bldg mat, and food services) -0.2%
- Feb vehicle sales -X.X%, gas station sales -X.X%, ex. only gas +X.X%. 
- Jan sales were revised up to +0.7% (prev +0.2%, Dec sales unrev -1.6%.
- Jan ex-mtr veh sales rev up to +1.5% (prev +0.9%), Dec unrev -2.1%.
- After incorporating revisions, Q1 retail sales are -1.9% SAAR from 
Q4. Sales ex mtr veh stand -1.1% SAAR from Q4, and control group sales 
only +1.4% SAAR, so Q1 PCE growth is tracking weak despite the upward 
Jan revision. March data will be released on April 18.
