Finance Minister Ocampo Due To Speak

Finance Minister Jose Antonio Ocampo will speak at the launch of a study by the Inter-American Development Bank today. The study is tiltled “new horizons of productive transformation in the Andean region.”

  • On Wednesday, Ocampo told reporters in Bogota that Colombia’s Finance, Energy and Trade ministers and oil producer Ecopetrol will meet next week to discuss the situation of oil and gas reserves.
  • “There are no final estimates of the reserves yet. We have to see how the contracts that are already signed guarantee sufficient reserves”. Transition away from fossil fuels needs to take into account the fiscal dependence of oil and gas revenue and their weight in exports: Ocampo (BBG)
  • Ocampo also pointed out that he is optimistic about economic growth in 2023, seeing it above 2%.
