Finance Minister Suggests BanRep Does Not Need To Lift Rates Higher

  • Finance Minister Jose Antonio Ocampo said the central bank doesn’t need to lift its benchmark interest rate any higher than its current level of 12%, according to an interview with Reuters at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
    • "The fact that inflation continued to rise in December was problematic, we don't deny it, but I think it was the peak," Ocampo said.
