Fire Breaks Out at Pipeline Linked to Es Sider
OIL
A fire broke out on one of the oil pipelines linked to Libya’s Es Sider oil port Aug. 12, according to sources and local media.
- The fire was around 30km from the Port, according to Alwasat. It has already been extinguished.
- The cause of the fire was a dredging machine that was working on the line.
- As the damage is unclear, it is hard to determine whether it will impact exports.
- Sources quoted an Argus note that was said to be reporting a fall of production by 100k b/d with 3-4 days of delay to loadings. However, this is yet to be confirmed in other media or by officials.
- Thus, the affected production and delays quoted may be subject to significant change as more information is released.
