Firmer On Monday, Employment Confidence Falls

NZD/USD prints at $0.6155/60, the pair was ~0.3% firmer on Monday.

  • The pair see-sawed around the 20-Day EMA ($0.6161) for the majority of yesterday's dealing, brief pressure came early in the European session but daily ranges were respected as support came in at $0.6140.
  • In the NY session resistance was seen ahead of $0.6180 and NZD/USD pared gains into the close.
  • Bulls look to sustain a break of the 20-Day EMA, from here they target the 200-Day EMA ($0.6230). Bears first look to break the low from 23 June ($0.6117).
  • The Westpac Q2 Employment Confidence Index was on the wires a short time ago falling 3.9%.
  • Cross asset wise; BBDXY fell ~0.1% and 10 Year US Treasury Yields fell ~1bp. WTI futures were ~0.3% higher.
  • The domestic data calendar is empty today.
