First LNG Canada Cargo Could be Delivered Earlier than Planned: Shell

LNG

Shell-led LNG Canada could deliver its first cargo earlier than planned, according to Shell cited by Reuters.

  • The project based in British Columbia is in its final stages of construction ahead of its planned startup in mid-2025. LNG Canada will produce 14m mtpa at its first phase development.
  • The project is part of Shell’s ambition to raise LNG capacity by 25-30% between 2022-2030 to 40m mtpa.
  • "It's always a balance between when we may get the first cargo, which indeed could well be earlier, versus what I'm really looking for that is a sustainable drumbeat of every cargo that we get coming routinely and consistently," Shell's head of integrated gas and upstream Zoe Yujnovich told Reuters.
