First Oil Tanker Discharged at Finnart Terminal After Pipeline Leak

An oil tanker carrying Nigerian crude discharged a cargo at Scotland’s Finnart terminal, marking the first discharge since early January, when PetroIneos reported a small like at the pipeline to the terminal, ship tracking data showed.

  • The Suezmax vessel Sienna discharged its cargo at Finnart terminal Feb. 3-5, according to ship tracking data.
  • Sienna, chartered by Petroineos, loaded about 480k bbl of CJ Blend from Nigeria, Vortexa data showed.
  • In early January, PetroIneos reported a small leak at the pipeline to the Finnart terminal. It is unclear when the terminal will be back online but a tanker – the Suezmax Sienna – is scheduled to arrive at Finnart on 3 Feb, Vortexa data showed.
  • It remains unclear whether the pipeline restarted operations despite the discharge.
  • The Grangemouth refinery had not taken any imported crude from Finnart since early January.
