First Stage of Zhangzhou LNG Terminal to Go Online in 2024

PipeChina will put the Zhangzhou LNG terminal, located in Zhangzhou city in Fujian province, into use in H1 2024, according to OilChem.

  • The first phase covers three, 160 mcm storage tanks allowing the facility to hold 3m mtpa of LNG.
  • The supporting transportation pipeline is planned to be put into operation simultaneously with the Zhangzhou LNG terminal.
  • Currently, CNOOC’s Fujian LNG terminal is the only terminal in the province, receiving 6.3m mtpa. The terminal imported 3.4m mt in 2023, an annual rise of 22.43%.
  • Fujian will also look to push for the Hanas Putian LNG terminal and PetroChina Fujian terminal projects amid an effort for the province to hit a regasification capacity of 15m mtpa by 2025.
