Fitch Revises Czechia's Rating Outlook To Stable From Negative

  • Fitch kept Czechia's long-term foreign currency debt rating at AA- but revised the outlook to stable from negative. The agency said that the "Czech Republic has navigated the successive pandemic and energy price shocks without lasting effects on the long-term macroeconomic outlook, despite weaker growth in the short term"; it also tipped hat to the country's fiscal consolidation measures, which are expected to shrink budget deficit.
  • President Petr Pavel's spokesperson said that he has opted out of the Paris summit on Ukraine aid and delegated Prime Minister Fiala to represent Czechia. The summit is intended to better coordinate efforts to support Kyiv on the second anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion.
